Why Friqi Exists
Independent African artists deserve a dedicated platform.
The music industry's infrastructure was not built for the independent African artist. DSPs prioritise major labels. Radio in many markets is pay-to-play. Discovery algorithms favour established acts with large catalogues.
Friqi exists to change that. We combine the reach of radio with the permanence of artist profiles, the credibility of editorial review, and the visibility of chart rankings — all focused on independent African and diaspora talent.
